Uboa backs up (16/10/2011)

Uboa (West Quest - Flying Diva) backed up just 3 days after his impressive win in Launceston to easily win again in Hobart on Sunday the 16th of October. It continues Uboa's ever consitent run of form and Uboa will now have a short spell before returning for some of the Local Cups over the Summer Racing Carnival. Ecosse (West Quest - Hey That's My Bike) broke through for her maiden win at just her third start. The David Brunton trained filly is a full sister to the stakes placed Aprillia. Artie's Spur (Artie Schiller - Tara's Spur) won the opening event of the card at just his second start and Artie's Spur was a Grenville Stud Tasmanian Yearling Sale graduate. Reach The Moon (Partners Choice - Rise to the stars) completed another good day for Grenville bred horses making it her second win from limited starts winning the Class 1 Handicap over 1100m.

Great night for Grenville Stud (13/10/2011)

Lady Sherwood (Partners Choice - Aristocrat Lady) broke through for her 1st win at just her 4th start. The bay mare was the beginning of a very good night for Grenville bred horses at Launceston on Thursday the 13th of OCober. Two Avenues (My Lad - Toriann) made it his 3rd win in a hard fought race which was the first of 3 winners for Graeme McCulloch.  Drummond (Snippetson - Sobrietry Girl) was another Grenville bred winner who easily accounted for his rivals and looks to have more wins just around the corner. Uboa (West Quest- Flying Diva) won very impressively in the last race of the evening, Uboa was going away from his rivals in a 2 length win.

Maximus Meridius wins (9/10/2011)

Maximus Meridius (West Quest - Richmond Hare) won at Devonport on Sunday the 9th of October.  The Leon Wells trained gelding made it his 3rd win from limited starts and is progressing well.

Westering Home wins very impressively (2/10/2011)

Westering Home (West Quest - Scottish Lass) won very easily coming from the tail of the field in his first race start at Hobart on Sunday the 2nd of October. Westering Home is a half brother to the very promising Highland Lassie and White Yard. Westering Home was a short priced favourite and was guided to victory by Michael Guthrie. Juan (Partners Choice - Deb's Pride) also won at the same meeting making it his 4th win and earnings of over $45,000.

Dream Pedlar takes out the JRA cup (30/9/2011)

Dream Pedlar (West Quest - Unamah) took out the $200,000 Group 3 JRA Cup at Moonee Valley on Friday the 30th of September. Craig Newitt guided Dream Pedlar to victory and the win takes his earnings over $670,000. Dream Pedlar looks to have an exciting Spring Carnival ahead of him and we would like to wish Troy Blacker and all connections the best of luck with his Spring Campaign.

Double to West Quest, Again (25/9/2011)

Jeda's Quest (West Quest - Broadway Illusion) broke through for her first win at Hobart on Sunday the 25th of September. The Leon Wells trained 3 year old filly was guided by Steve Maskiell over the 1100m journey. Hired Gun (West Quest - Wild Cherry) made it two wins in a row easily accounting for his rivals in the 1100m Class 2 event. Hired Gun was ridden by Brendan McCoull again and looks to have more wins ahead.

Double to West Quest (18/9/2011)

The ever consistent Uboa (West Quest - Flying Diva) won impressively coming from last over 2100m at Launceston on Sunday the 18th of September. From 6 starts this campaign Uboa has been in the top 3 on 5 of those occasions for Graeme McCulloch. Wills Hope (West Quest - Shalouise) also won making it his 4th win and the Mark Ganderton trained gelding looks to have bigger things ahead of him.

Treble for West Quest (11/9/2011)

Barysh Quest (West Quest - Miss Barysh) won impressively  at Hobart on Sunday the 11th of September, this was the first win for the Gary White trained gelding and he will be aimed at the 3 year old classic races over the Summer Racing Carnival. Hired Gun (West Quest - Cherry Wild) also broke through for his maiden win in the Class 1 handicap, the Michael Voss trained Gelding was ridden by Brendan McCoull. To finish another good day for West Quest, Western Wager (West Quest - Never Trumped) won the Open Handicap over 1100m and this was the 8th win for Western Wager taking his earnings over $135,000.

Maximus Meridius wins for Leon Wells (30/8/2011)

Maximus Meridius (West Quest - Richmond Hare) won at Hobart on Sunday the 28th of August making it his second win from just a hand full of starts. Maximus Meridius won comfortably in the Class 1, 1100m event for Leon Wells.

Double to Graeme McCulloch (16/8/2011)

Graeme McCulloch made it a winning double with two of West Quest's progeny saluting at Launceston on Monday the 15th of August. Both bred and reared at Grenville Stud, Westwina (West Quest - Dalwina) and Lavaca (West Quest - Silver Wire) scored impressive victories. Lavaca has now won 11 races and continues his return to form while Westwina made it her second win and looks to have a bright future ahead.

West Quest wins Tasmania's leading sire title, again (10/8/2011)

West Quest has won his 6th consecutive Leading Tasmanian Sire Title following the close of the 2010-2011 racing season. West Quest's progeny have earnt over $1M in each of the 6 seasons he has been the Leading Sire in Tasmania and there has never been another Tasmanian based sire have progeny win in excess of $1M in a racing season. Dream Pedlar (West Quest - Unamah) was the biggest stakes winner with over $280,000 in prize money for the 2010-2011 racing season. Grenville Stud would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported West Quest and announce that his service fee will remain unchanged at $4,400 inc GST for the 2011 breeding season. West Quest represents outstanding value for a sire of his class and is sure to be popular with breeders yet again this season.

Father Ned makes it 2 from 3 (25/7/2011)

Father Ned (God's Own - Ornamented) made it 2 wins from just 3 starts winning the 2 year old Handicap in Launceston on Sunday the 24th of July. Father Ned was bred and reared by Grenville and started a great day for Grenville bred horses. Graeme McCulloch also trained a double with Two Avenues (My Lad - Torrianne) scoring an all the way win while Lavaca (West Quest - Silver Wire) notched up his 10th win in the Ted Cox Memorial Open Handicap. Lavaca took West Quest's progeny earnings to $998,000 for the current racing season and with one week left in the season West Quest is set to win his 6th consecutive Leading Tasmanian Sire award and take his progeny's earnings over $1,000,000 for each of those 6 racing seasons.

More winners for Grenville breds (10/7/2011)

Baradin (Snippetson - Our Royal Dane) broke through for his first win after a number of luckless runs at Launceston on Sunday the 10th of July. Another Graeme McCulloch trained runner joined Baradin in the winners circle when Westwina (West Quest - Dalwina) broke through impressively with her maiden victory.

Three in a row to Pallone (3/7/2011)

Father Ned (God's Own - Ornamented) was a very impressive winner at Hobart on Sunday the 3rd of July winning the 2 year old handicap at just his second start. Father Ned was bred by Grenville Stud and was sold through the 2010 Magic Millions Tasmanian Sale. On the same day Wills Hope (West Quest - Shalouise) won for Mark Ganderton and Brendan McCoull making it the 4 year olds 3rd win. Juan (Partner's Choice - Deb's Pride) also made it his third win in the very next race while Pallone (Partners Choice - La Daze) has made it 3 successive wins and taken his earnings over $110,000. Guided by Brendan McCoull all three wins were at Hobart on the 15th of May, 19th of June and 3rd of July.  Omega Quest (West Quest - Nevertrice) notched up yet another win and continued his rise through the classes at Launceston on Sunday the 26th of June, the West Quest gelding looks set to win more races in open company in the near future.

Kid Dynamite Makes it 3 in a Row (12/6/2011)

Kid Dynamite (West Quest - Waminda) has made it three wins in a row with wins in Hobart on the 8th and 29th of May and then winning again on the 12th of June in Launceston. The David & Scott Brunton trained 4 year old has looked impressive since breaking through for his debut win and looks to be another West Quest youngster on the rise.
