Racing

Grenville Stud has racing stables which have first class facilities and our training establishment offers all services from breaking in to full race preparation all at competitive rates.

At Grenville there are three tracks, a 1200m straight  grass track and a 1200m straight sand track both with an uphill climb to ensure complete fitness. A 1000m sand track is used for warm-ups and slow work. Our facilities include two sand rolls, two warm wash bays, an eight horse walker and a swimming pool. Quarter hectare paddocks are utilized during the day for the horses to have a natural environment and allow them to relax.  Grenville can cater for 40 horses however we prefer to keep the number to about 20 and concentrate more on quality.

Trainer Graeme McCulloch has won the Tasmanian trainers premiership four times in his career and has never been out of the top 10 trainers in the past 30 years. He has won all of Tasmania's feature races such as the Hobart Cup, Devonport Cup, Newmarket, Oaks, Strutt Stakes etc. as well as having success with several horses at Melbourne metropolitan tracks. Graeme is currently the Leading Tasmanian trainer and boasts a strike rate of over 20%.

Grenville has horses available for syndication or shares are available for purchase and Graeme is also happy to give advice and inspect horses at any sales around Australia.

Visitors are welcome to Grenville and we encourage owners to the complex to watch the horses undertaking their work. For further information or just to discuss your options please don't hesitate to contact us.
